Help please- Combat Medic EDC

Well guys I pulled the trigger. I just ordered a Spyderco Delica with Emerson Wave opener. I like the Endura suggestions, but the blade may be a little long/intimidating in some situations. The Delica should do almost anything he needs. Personally if a 3" blade can't handle the task, then I don't want to be using a folder- just sayin'. I also thought the addition of an Emerson opener would make it a more interesting EDC when compared to other options.

Thanks again for everyone's suggestions. With the money I saved over a ZT or similar, I think I will still get him a BM Triage if/when he deploys. In that environment the extra bulk may be worth it. However, like you guys pointed out, walking around Fairbanks the BM is probably too much, and my soldier is very low key and understated. He would never be mistaken for "that guy", another reason I chose the smaller blade.

So your the reason that I could not use 91 Bravo as my screen name! You know that medics are not 91Bs anymore, right? IRRC, they have changed it to 68W. I think 91B is now a mechanic MOS.

Yes, they changed the designators years back. You are correct, the current 91bravo MOS is a wheeled mechanic.

The folder I carry is a spyderco manix 2 (19k currently, but was also 11b) and I think it's great. I can ask my unit's medic this weekend at drill and see what he recommends. However, recently I've switched to just using my multi-tool and keeping a small fixed blade in my lower OCP pocket (in the off chance I'd need it for heavier tasks).

*edited to say, woops. Saw you had already pulled the trigger*

Great choice in the Delica. The serrated Salt version of the Delica might have been a tad better but I cannot fault your choice.
