Here's a photo of three pieces of Quilted Maple. The one in the middle is in its natural state while the two outside have stabilized and dyed by K&G. I did those two as a test to see how they'd turn out and I'm pretty happy with the results, but I'm looking for some feedback on what you all think and what other colors I should consider. Thanks for the help.

I've been looking for blocks of dark green, but would want richer burl action in them then those you're showing. Something like these...

Thanks for your responses. I know K&G has a good variety of colors to choose from. Guess I'll have to get more familiar with them. Phil, these are definitely not burled pieces. The quilting on them is only moderate, that's why I'm thinking of getting them dyed. It will pop the quilting somewhat. I wish I had the quality of the pieces that you show.

My advice would be.....stick to earthy/woodsy type of colors. Something that wouldn't stick out on a man's hunting belt & look silly. Red's, Brown's, Greens & Natural are all solid choices.
The Blues/Yellows/Purples/Etc. colors, that are not typical, earthy/woodsy colors, I only use on specialty projects or by special request.

Thanks Bob, that certainly makes a lot of sense. Some of my wood goes onto kitchen knives so I have to think along those lines as well.
