Help! Rockstead blade rock?

Yeah, I know.
I thought only this Rockstead knife has hidden pivot screw but when I was looking Rockstead folding knives I saw all of them have the same design anomaly of flaw, if we look from maintenance stand point.
I suppose the designer thought they will look neat and something special with hidden screw, but I think they are just unpractical this way. If I'm honest those Rockstead knives with plastic handles and hidden pivot screws look somehow cheap to me.
What manufacturers are superior?
Those one who don't hide screws + don't use 'specially designed' screws so average Joe needs to buy a special expensive tool to maintain the knife?
Which rockstead uses plastic handles?

Which rockstead uses plastic handles?
REN, CHI, TEI, HIGO, SAI, SHIN, NEHAN
I didn't read the specs but those look to me like they're made of plastic; especially SHIN, CHI, TEI and HIGO. Could be some sort of special exotic and expensive material but they look like made of plastic.

Has a hidden pivot ever hurt you in some way?

You’re absolutely a handful of crayons short of the box.

All of your posts in this thread come up wildly short. You likely have never handled a rockstead but you seem to know how to design a knife better than Rockstead, can you show the rest of the class your knife that you built. We all wait with bated breath.

No. They arent. They are metal. You have literally ZERO correct info on this knife, and it's absolutely appalling you're unwilling to do the bare minimum amount of research before posting in a thread asking for help (which has been helpful thanks to other kind members). You've been completely unhelpful, and insulting to the knife since post 1 here (which is ok, but no one asked for your opinion). As far as i know, you've broken no forum rules, and i certainly can't tell you to leave the thread, but i CAN tell you that you are making yourself look a fool with every post here. Do with that info what you will.

Could be I'm a fool because I don't like hidden pivot screws and because those exotic coated titanium and aluminum scales look like plastic on those photos but I'm not the one who can't find a pivot screw.
If it's not outside it must be where? Inside, I suppose.
So, how's your project going? Have you finally disassembled the knife and tightened the screw?

Its clear where the screw is. I dont pry apart thousand dollar knives lightly. If thats the best "insult" you've got, which combines with the fact you legitimately have ZERO correct info to add, i think you are done here.

Everything above is purely your opinion, which is worth exactly what we paid for it.

Maybe "average joes" shouldn't really be taking apart expensive knives to fiddle with them in the first place.

Almost all true maintenance can be done without disassembling a folder.

If they do need to be disassembled, send it back to the maker if you're not competent enough to do it yourself.

If it had a warranty, i would. Itmdoesnt, so, no thanks. If i happen to ruin it, ill survive.

Don't be so delicate. It was only a simple question, not an insult.
So, have you disassembled the knife and fixed the play?

I suppose this comment went to my direction.
Heh, you got me right at perfect moment.
Moderator, hit me with all you have under your bonnet
I can assure you I'm more then capable to disassemble whatever knife you throw on my desk. I don't have one of those 'needing special tool' knives but I'm capable of making a 'special' tool by myself if need to.
The last time I had to make a special disassembling tool was when I had to replace a potentiometer on Rowenta ironong station.
Give me a second, not so long ago my Nikkor 35 f1. 8G started to stutter. I thought a piezzo motor gone south so I ordered a new one. When I got the motor I disassembled the lens and discovered the motor just needed to be cleaned. I cleaned the motor and assembled the lens back and then tested the lens to be sure it's working propery. So, you Rockstead genious, do you know how a piezzo motor works?
Now, Mr. J. Doyle, tell me, do you have cohones to disassemble and asemble a Nikkor lens?
Do you know perhaps how to disassemble and repair a Husquarna chain motor saw? Is there a chance you can write a program for Benzinger CNC lathe or perhaps Deckel milling machine? No? Can you disassemble and adjust a device for measuring strength of magnetic field? No? What about type in some working parameters for Biraghi or Engel injection moulding machine?
Can you make yourself a plunge router table? Can you replace a light bulb or you need to call electritian?
So, what can you do by yourself besides to be a smart ass about Rockstead knives? Come on, tell me, what can you do by your self? Can you do at least something? To repair something in your house? To make something?
Tell me. Go on, think hard and then write what can you do by you self.
Let me know what an american Rockstead genious can do by himself.

Yes, I know. I lost it. But what the hell, I can't just let some US 'buy and throw away and I don' t know how to do anything by myself' smart ass is making fun of me just because I don't give a shit about Rockstead knives.

Go now blue moderator, go, give me some negative points and please, finaly do something about this sick f****r who has this ' kill commy for mommy' or whatever avatar does it have. It's just not appropriate for 2024 no matter which bravo company he was back then.

Nighty night. Do try to learn to play nicely with others in your future travels. You've made a botch of it here.

An "Average Joe" is probably not spending on a knife what these cost, let's be real. This was an artistic design intention on a very beautiful, very expensive knife that's meant as a piece of useful/usable pocket jewelry. Absolutely no issue with that. Me personally, I'm looking forward to what C crk1984 does with it.

Beautiful pieces from a viewpoint of a user/buyer but the disassembly guy inside me thinks otherwise, I like to think of it as old school design, I think these models have been around 2015-2016? nowadays designs are easy to be serviced.

Someday I will get a rockstead folder... everytime I'm close something cuts the line and its back to the waiting game..
