Help!!! Rtak ii krinkle coat peeling off!!

There is one type that will dissolve plastic (gun scrubber solvent) and another that is a cleaner/lube. The solvent is like automotive brake cleaner. Works great for heavy cleaning but you need to use oil after you use it.

Yea, I generally stay away from anything that has petroleum distillates in it. Now I just use pure mineral spirits. Seems to work the best for me.

Patina is not a durable coating its just a surface oxidation that protects the steel from red rust. Its not going to rub off with your finger but batoning, cutting cardboard or a rag with metal polish will all wear off the patina. The patina will also increase with some cutting activities, cutting meat or fruit will add to it and so will cleaning wild game (blood).

If your using the blade a lot where friction is put on the body of the blade then yes the patina will wear off but it is very easy to patina it again.

okay so im totally committed to the patina idea so my last question would be which is the best most recommended for a newbie like me to remove the blade's finish entirely so i can patina it??
