I hvae a Spyderco Endura 4 knife and a spyderco sharpmaker. I thought that I will be able to make it really sharp because of all post telling how sharp you could get it, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to be very sharp... Using the spyderco sharpmaker i made my victorinox sharp as hell, but the endura doesn't get as sharp as the victorinox does, the endura even has probelms with cutting hair... I don't know... Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Any tips?

Take a black Sharpie or magic marker and mark the whole edge. Sharpen on your Sharpmaker until all the "black" is gone. You're probably trying to sharpen at a slightly different angle (from factory)....and the VG-10 is hard to re profile unless you have the diamond rods.

Also, make sure your storkes are vertical. Another thing is to make sure your strokes are light, dont force them.

30 degrees.....Yikes! Without diamond rods, it will take a long, long time to re profile to this angle. Factory Endura edges are much closer to 40 degrees. You'll see what's happening with the "Sharpie"......you're not removing any material near the edge. I suggest you either switch to 40 degrees or get a set of diamond rods.
