Help! Stop me! Beefy folder wanted

side by side: ZT 300, Rukus, Extrema Ratio MPC, ZT 200

Thumbs up on the Ontario XM 1, very well executed knife, I can post some pics and yes I use the s out of it.

The jimping contrast between the 2 middle knives is striking, after EDCing all of these my personal fav is the ZT 300.

If you can, I would like to see some pics of the XM-1. I have only seen it in a small handfull online adds.

Thanks for the other pics too.

No prob, I'll send them along tomorrow aftyer I take them, is there any aspect in particular you want to see close up?

Cold Steel Rajah. Any of the Cold Steel Custom series. Benchmade Rukus. Wanna spend more? Check the Strider RC.

Here is a range - a Kershaw 1725CB JYDII for $65 or the Benchmade 610 Rukus $165+. The over 8.5" length of what I thought was a big knife in that JYDII is overshadowed by the even larger Rukus. Both are great keepers.

Actually, the JYDII shown is the limited run Ti/SG-2 version ~$140+, if you can find one. The CPM-D2 CB variant has decently tactile finished G10 scales. The Rukus is better for some more bushcraft uses - the JYDII is a bit better slicer - super sharp.

What about a kershaw tyrade?
AFAIK, the ZT200 and tyrade have the same beefy linerlock.

Depending on the application, the less "tactical look of the tyrade might come in handy?

Beefy = Zero Tolerance.

Get the ZT0200. You won't be disappointed. I have the ZT0300 it is my favorite folder of ALL TIME!!! :D I love it so much that the ZT0200 and maybe even the entire ZT line will be mine. ;)

I like the Buck folding Kalinga, a big beautiful handful of folder, works like a fixed blade, and has good belly for cutting and butchering.

Can only 2nd the ZT0200 for a beefy folder, and 2nd Esav's advice about carrying it all alone in your pocket. Also 2nd the G-10 Tyrade as an alternative to the ZT0200 due to it having the same thick blade ( .157" ) and same thick hardened steel liners ( ~.080" ). The Tyrade has a flat profile which makes it an easy carry in the pocket. I have both models and have been carrying the Tyrade for the past few weeks due to the flatter handle profile.

Btw, when I want extra beefy I go with my Strider AR. It has a blade of .187" thick S30V, and titanium liners .105" thick. It be very BEEFY!

G-10 Tyrade is pretty robust in every way except it lacks the oversized pivot bolt the ZT knives get. Sure it's heavy, but it's also a bullet-proof folder. I dropped it on my driveway the other day doing yard work, luckily it didn't land on the blade edge. But there was no visible damage whatsoever on the G-10.

Strider SMF, SNG, AR
Hinderer XM-18
Extrema Ratio RAO
ZT 300 series
Emerson HD-7, CQC 12, CQC 15

anything heavier than what I listed is just carrying a sharpened brick!

all "sides of beef" selections that have been suggested are good...really it comes down to choosing a style/look from the choices...me, i like the zt200...so much that i got another slab from the other side of the bull, the zt500...
