I got the spanner tool and a hex screw, despite using force the pivot felt like it is melted into one piece I just can't adjust it

anyone have same problem or can help?

Contact Strider. Hopefully they'll return your emails. They didn't return my emails or calls so I just mailed my PT in to be fixed.

Is there LocTite on the pivot screw? Try touching the head of the screw with a soldering iron for a 4-5 seconds to see if it breaks the LocTite.

Try touching the tip of a soldering iron to the screw and heat it up a bit. I don't know if Strider uses Locktite, but if they do, that should loosen it up enough to adjust the pivot.

Edit - Oops, ya beat me to it.

i got a rw-1 like that it has zero play but i tried to move it it like pushing a tree, itz got locktite, strider will help......

Sh*t..... Im in Canada & just got it shipped all the way from the states.....:(

Something wrong that you need to adjust it?

try the soldering iron or even dip the end with the pivot in some boiling water for a few seconds and then it should come loose. heat is the way to break loctite.

Strider tends to use quite a bit of loctite on their pivots and you may need to use a soldering iron for up to several minutes to loosen the bond.

New they are a bit stiff to open but I would suggest playing with it for a week or so before you go 'adjusting' anything.

+1.

I never found a reason to adjust any Strider. That being said, you're going to have to use a soldering iron to break the pivot free. 3-5 minutes should be enough.

I set my ZT on top of my space heater for a while to break the locktight for the pocket clip screws.

The blade was stiff and I was trying to get it a bit smoothier
I tried heating it up a bit but doesn't seem to work...

This is giving me a headache...not the best blade experience I ever had :(

I had to heat my SMF pivot up with a soldering iron for quite a long time... If it doesnt have any play, let it be. The action will smooth out if you just play with it.

You need to break it in, not loosen the pivot.

stesso proa ebbi io in passato nel texas a cavallo mi si inpigliò lo strider nei calzoni.:D

I agree don't mess with the pivot. You need to break it in.
That's part of the fun when getting a brand new Strider is having earned a "Strider thumb"
