HELP!... Strider problem

I agree don't mess with the pivot. You need to break it in.
That's part of the fun when getting a brand new Strider is having earned a "Stirder thumb"

Put a little pencil lead on the blade where the lock face mates. Also, put a little on the hole in the blade where the ball sits. The opening will smooth-up really quickly. The coated blades (i.e. black and striped) take longer to break-in.

how does that makes sense though? Strider expects their customers not to clean their knives after use?

Strider does NOT want you to disassemble their knives. To clean it just run it under hot tap water for a few minutes and let it air dry and shoot a quick shot of oil in the pivot and away you go.

I heard they suggest not taking it apart because too many people were sending in knives that weren't put back together properly (don't ask me how you can fudge that up:confused:) and knives that were put back together with different blades /handles that didn't fit properly ( no two SnGs are exactly the same, there are small differences in grinds that could affect the lock-up)

You should be able to clean your knife without taking it apart. Spidyman's method should do the trick. If you do take it apart, just be sure to remember how to put it back together.

Putting it back together isn't hard, actually I found it even easier then a Sebenza.

I read that people were taking different models and swapping parts out, something you can't really do. All the pieces are blanked and then they are fitted together by hand. You can't take the lockbar off of one SNG and put it on another.
