Help!!! Stripped Pocket Clip Screw!

A quality driver should help, My father in law works a lot with car mechanichs and he has a set of Snap-on drivers to use when others don´t work.

Also, when I get a new harmonica I dissamble it to change the tunning in a couple of reeds, the screws in Hohner harmonicas are Reed and Prince and finding the right driver in México is not easy so I have cut slots with a dremel on those small screws more than a few times and it allways worked fine, just have to be carefull not to cut yourself or damage anything.

If all else fails you can get a screw extractor, you drill a hole on the screw and insert a conical bit that gets tight as it is inserted while twisting, it grabs on and takes it out, it may work in the existing hole of the torx head.

If you decide to refinish the clip, remove it from the knife first!

You could remove all the coating and have a silver clip. After the coating is gone, polish out the scratch.
You could spray paint the clip. It would look better if you sanded and polished out the scratch first.
You could remove the coating and try cold gun bluing. If the clip is made of stainless steel I don’t think it would work, but who knows?
For a fast easy fix, color the scratch with a black permanent felt pen.
Talk to Benchmade. A new clip might be really cheap or even free.

I've been annoying Benchmade alot about my 556. First the locking bar wasn't finished right when I first got it, sent it in, fixed, no problem. Then these screws mess up (well I did), their sending me some replacement screws for all of my 556. Now my pocket clip is screwed up (I fell down on my side on a hard surface I mean a concreate floor), chances are they'll tell me a method or send me a replacement clip as well (Angie at BM is really nice!). Since they have bared with me thru all of this they are now my favorite knife company! :D (actually the last one was my fault and the second last one is partly my fault)

Well my replacement clip and screws arrived today. I just toak the old clip off and put the new one on.

Method:
I removed the other screws, then I gently wiggled and worked the clip till I could turn the clip around and around therefore removing the stripped screw. Then I put the new clip on. And I am now going out to Sears next time possible to pick up a craftsmen torx kit.

I am now happy again :D
