As for stripper - I picked up a can from Ace hardware, brand is "Klean Strip" Premium Stripper - a gold colored can - I didn't see the ones everyone talks about so I looked for the one with the most warning labels on the can. It's a thick gel kind of spray - I covered the blade real good, hang it on a wire over a trash can from my bench vise - watch TV or piddle with something and after a half hour basically wipe it off with paper towels and that's it. Then take a SS wire brush, looks like a toothbrush, go along the scales, through the fuller or CBT if that's needed and that's it- Then, I drill out the tubes and do under the slabs.
