Help - The blade on my MT LCC is "stained"

I was out with the wife the other night and she was drinkng Corona. The waitress gave her an industrial sized lime that wouldn't fit in the bottle so I cut it up with my LCC. The next morning I was cleaning the blade and noticed that there was a stain where the lime juice had been on the blade. The lime juice appears to have "eaten" away at the finish leaving a shiny spot on my otherwise dull stonewash finish. What gives? Is this anything to be concerned about? Actually, I like the shiny finish better.

Thanks,

If you like the blade with the shinier look, get another lime and do the whole blade.
I would make sure you wipe the blade with Tuf-Cloth or better yet Marine Tuf-Cloth and put some Tuf-Glide around the pivot area as well. The 154-CM steel may rust if you don't protect it from what I have heard!

Be sure and degrease the knife before you rub anything on it to oxidize it. Otherwise, the finish may be uneven. Some people have found Tuf-Glide (the active ingredient in Tuf-Cloth) to be of insufficient lubricity when used on pivot points. A PTFE / oil or PTFE / grease or Li grease or MoS2 will work if you need a better lubricant.

Don't blame the lime, man, sipping tequila has probably fried most of the severe germs and botulism I've encountered in this life's walk. I think it's the cheap imported beer. And, you know that lime is a citrus fruit, and you probably should have rinsed the knife off after use. After all, you'd rinse a knife off after field dressing a deer or a justifiable homicide, wouldn't you? I agree with neutralizing any corrosion that's still progressing, and any scientist will tell you, once oxidation begins, it continues. Gun Scrubber is good, or Hoppe's Nine, and then I'd 'towel' the thing off with Nevr-Dull. But, figure it this way, I believe that tactical knives should be used more than they are polished. I carry an LCC, as well, as my daily carry. My asthma inhaler put a 'scratch' on the titanium bolster; turns out it was just a bit of plastic from the lid, and it wiped right off. Either way, I'm not leaving the knife at home, and I'm sure not leaving the inhaler. Remember, you bought the knife to improve your life...--OKG
