help there

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) has a long standing reputation as a styptic. The genus name cames from Achilles, the Greek (?) warrior, who, reportedly used it to staunch the blood flow of his wounded soldiers. A couple of other common names were Soldier's Woundwort, and Carpenter's Weed - references to this use.

Isn't tannin a good antiseptic as well? I pretty sure you can get that from most trees here in the states just by boiling it out in water.

A natural remedy is Cayenne pepper, if you don't use it to stop bleeding you can always throw it in your camp food !!!

9. Stop Minor Bleeding
You can cure yourself with Cayenne Pepper if you have a minor cut or scrape that's bleeding. Simply sprinkle some Cayenne powder right on the wound.
