Why nobody say anything about Jack Hammer? Is that not a good choose?

Probably because it would be about 70% tactical/defensive and 30% survival/outdoors worthy. Not what you had originally asked for. :)

I haven't seen this modified ASH-1 by Mr. Weiland that you mentioned, but a regular ASH-1 or the Tank Buster would be more appropriate for what you stated that you were looking for.

Other good choices would be a Desert Storm Fighter (DSF), Special Forces Natural Outlaw (SFNO), a thin Anniversary Steel Heart (Skinny ASH), Hell Razor (HR), BOSS Jack Combat Grade or Limited Edition (BJ CG or LE) ---> Which is currently available for ordering through Busse Combat, Satin Jack TAC (SJTAC), Badger Attack TAC (BATAC), or a SARsqautch ('Squatch).

Good Hunting! :)

What do you think would be a good price to pay for Tank Buster & DSSF?

+1 for the TB

I bought a lightly used, choil-less TB variant with mag handles with a very nice Chuddy sheath (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=821787) for $400 I think.

Despite its thick blade, it penetrates extremely well... I dropped it on my leg and got a little kiss. Slices amazingly well for a blade its size too, I was trying to move fast and not bleed all over the place and ran the big toe on the foot on my other leg across the blade... toe fillet anyone?

The best advice I can give you is that you do the research. Find the original prices, then see what the average price for these being sold on the Busse Exchange go for. The link to the Exchange is near the top of the main Busse forum page.

Use the "Search This Forum" function both in the Busse Forum and the Busse Exchange...it's on the right side at the top of the list of threads in each forum. Check "Desert Storm Fighter", "Desert Storm Stealth Fighter" & "Tank Buster" (without the quote marks)

Also, http://www.bussecollector.com/catalog/ is a great model & original price resource. I didn't see the new DSF/DSSF versions listed on Busse Collector...the original one was made from A2 steel, these new ones are from INFI, but you can find the price(s) for these newer ones by searching the Busse forum with the "Search This Forum" function. Look in the list of results for threads started by Jerry Busse to find the original price offerings.

Decide what you wish to spend, and get ready to pounce when you see what you want around the price you arrived at. Keep in mind that although discontinued models usually sell for higher than original price, it's currently a Buyer's market and with some research and a little patience, you should find a good deal on what you're looking for. :)

Busse Experts! Please help me ID the bottom knife in the 25 March 2010, photo of four knives above. An SFNO? Thanks!

I am not positive by any means, but isn't that a SARsquatch? Hope I am right but I am just a wee little piglet...

Thanks! I have a SARQ, and it has its own unique profile. Probably an SFNO, but looks a bit different in this photo. The Flat Grind through me off...Cheers.

The bottom knife in that picture is an SFNO with Black coating and a Black Canvas handle. It is a great knife!

Yes, but not one of the original run SFNO, as those were sabre ground. That one would be a flat ground Show or 'Ganza variant.

Tank buster, Sarq. Or Dssf are all excellent choices.
You'll proby end up with a few anyhoo--fair warning!

Thanks Lora7 and resinguy. That SFNO w/ the flat grind looks perfect. Yet another one to get! Stay warm out in Ohio!
