hey guys, none of my local shops carry a large selection of files. i wanted to get a large nicholson (12in+) file. i was looking on amazon but didnt understand all the terms. what is american cut? is a coarse single cut more abrasive than a fine double cut? any help welcome thanks!

McMaster-Carr usually has an about page at the front the each section of the catalog that is really informative. If you do a search for files, then click the about link, you get this:
