Help w/ Tree ID

I was hoping someone could tell me what type of tree this is and if the berries are edible... thanks...

That is a wild cherry tree and yes the berries are edible, however I am not sure about the seeds in the berry. The seeds are a large part of the berry and it would take a lot of berries to amount to much after the seeds are removed.

Thanks smokinape! I was going to post the same tree a few days ago, but must have deleted it off my phone. Now I know. :)
 
Looks to be a wild cherry tree to me as well. I had to cut down a few in the past several years. Do you have any pics of the bark or inner wood? That would make it much more accurate on an ID.....
 
I will get more pics, there are a few of these at a regular hiking spot. Many seem to be infected with some bugs...
 
Yup, Wild black cherry. I have a few in the back yard. Also, the wood is great for smoking meats.
