Hi, I'm new in this forum, I'm from Spain, and I want to thank you because I've been reading you during the last year and has been really helpful.

Well, the question is easy, I'm looking for a new BIG Bowie knife, and I really like the aesthetics of old west Bowie knives, not modern. Now I'm between two knives, CS 1917 frontier Bowie or the Von tempsky Bowie. Which of these is better? I know that they are not the same, they have different utilities, the tempsky it's more like a survival knife (or I'm wrong?). I do not use a knife usually in the field, but I want a good, reliable knife, that can be used for "everything" (obviously there's no knife that can be used for everything). I know the CS has 1055 steel blade, and the tempsky says "high carbon steel blade", anyone knows the carbon on the tempsky blade? My budget it's around 200$ and up to 300$ (no more). Which do you think it's better, the CS or the Tempsky? Any other good option??

Thank you!!

Cold Steel Laredo sk5

Doesn't get much more traditional, 10.5" of good ol' o1 steel, under $200...

Thanks for the reply! I've been looking through the Internet and I saw a video of nuntfancy about that particular knife, he says it's a full tang, but I believe it's a partial tang with steel cable, or I'm wrong? I know that's not really bad for a fighting Bowie (I like them) but I think that for an all around knife can be worse, or not? Anyways, the look of the Laredo Bowie it's not my favorite, but I like it. It's a good "all around" knife?
Thanks
