I love my Filson but it may be a bit warm for Central America. I was looking a UA caps for the wicking feature.

Second that. I can' t wear oil or wax treated caps- my head bakes in them-even in the cold weather. For ball cap types, I have recently gone to UnderArmour for all 4 seasons! Most of the ones I have are of 4 way stretch material that is breathable and easy to wash up and dry. Certain models have a velcroed tab back for easy adjustment. Other are with wicking elastic band all around. And come in a few sizes. For those who wonder about the winter, I do have a thick 4 way stretch polyster fleece model with fold up/ down ear flaps! It is the Cold Gear model- snugly warm.
If you' re planning on going into the woods, there is a Nike brand ballcap that I' ve seen recently that uses a stretch canvas cloth material and a full wicking band. It feels strong enough. But I haven' t tried it. You can find this and all types UnderArmour at most Marshalls and sister company TJ Maxx. And at real good prices.
