Is there a way to get the end of the damascus bar on the out side other than using the accordion process. If so .are there any tutorials that would help me out comments wanted thank you for your time

God Bless

Accordian cutting is the most common way. You can also weld "tiles" up but this can be a bit tricky.

you might want to look into what's been termed the "Ferry Flip" (Tom Ferry popularized this method). I could explain it, but it's easier to point you to an excellent thread at Don Fogg's forum that explains it better with pictures than I could do with words.

I use the tiling method (Ferry Flip) but don't tig weld. I tac weld the sides and use flux. I'll be doing a bar tomorrow and am going to try the Tig method.

Deker, Shawn, I missed that on Fogg's forum and I spend a lot of time there?

I've done a couple hundred accordion billets but never one like that. Gotta try it :D

Bill, another way; Twist the billet up real tight and forge flat. When you grind the bevels, you'll see
the end pattern repeated down the sides of the blade. This is the easiest and quickest but will give a different look.
