So thanks to everyone who taught me of the different hinderer and strider models and which one will work best for me. I chose the XM-18 3.5 Fatty Harpoon and Strider SNG DGG. I got them both in the mail today today.

I noticed on my hinderer that the gimping on the blade and flipper have this browny/ bronzy finish to it. Is this normal. Is there something wrong with my knife?

I was wondering what are the best ways to check if a strider and hinderer is legit and not a replica. What are tell tales signs to look for? I just spent a good chunk of change on it.

What do you guys think, does both my strider and hinderer look legit?

Great knives! Yes its absolutely normal for Hinderer. Both knives looks original, I don't see any sings of a fake.

The best way to be sure you get real knives, is to always buy from reputable dealers. Since you spent a good chunk of change, I'd say you probably did so.

Sweet blades! I was at the swap meet the other day and a guy had a very real looking Strider but it came with a cardboard box. = fake. He said he had a bunch and one guy bought most of what he had. So guaranteed that guy plans on selling them, most likely on line.

Good luck determining authenticity of a Strider. Didn't Mick himself say that he had trouble with that once? I know I have a Strider clone, and I have handled a few real Striders, and I could not tell a difference, and I have a good eye for details. Either way, I dig the pics. All cool knives. Enjoy!
