I just received a free sample of Militec 1. I got the dry impregnated lube and the grease. I wanted to use it on my knives I use alot but have a few questions. Can I use it on fixed blades with oxide coating like my Gerber prodigy or do I not need to? Will it gum up or make lint and other pocket junk stick to my edc folders (crkt m16 and boker hyper)? How is it applied?

Militec 1 has been known to be a good lubricant that when properly applied with heat, leaving a dry bond of sort. But I've heard mixed results concerning the rust protection or the lack thereof. There have been several discussions concerning that the product when it comes in contact with water, hydrochloric acid forms. Your oxide coated blades won't be a problem with rust but the edge might need some oil, depending on your area of use and such.
