I am in the process of finishing my first liner lock folder. I believe I cut the lock a couple of thousands too short to properly lock the blade. Can I peen the lock end and stretch it to make it tight. The liner is titanium. Thanks for the help.

You can do that, with a small cross peen hammer. I've just done it cold. I wouldn't do that if this knife will be for sale, though; a better fix would be to just cut out another lock side liner.

Bigger stop pin is way better than trying to peen the lock.

I will third the stop pin idea.
I use .1875 stop pins, but I keep larger ones on hand just in case.

It's easy to peen the lock to get that bit more of length, but don't do it at the end that engages the blade. Use a tool you can make that looks like a "very dull" cold chisel and use it three or four times if necessary one next to the other. I cut this tool from a planer blade years ago and when I have to use it, it works well. It is about 3/8" wide and 2 1/2" long. Frank

Thank you all. I have room to install a larger stop pin and will try that option first. If not I will cut out a new liner. The learning curve is a little more than I thought but I will get it.
