Basically I like my lowrider equiped Lil T . Prefer tip up carry in my bottomless ( actually cut out ) watch pocket.. The horn ( quilion)that's part of the handle on the lock or top of the handle hangs up on the way out of my pocket.. Looked this over and figure I'll just cut it off back to about 2mm or 1/8" above where the liners come into the handle. Got a dremel tool - so fast , stupid and un-repairable are certainly possible. Anybody got any good ideas about what's the best technique for removing/cutting this material (G-10).
BTW - would somebody post a current picture of Sal. I figure he may come huntin me and as one friend of mine with extensive prison survival skills puts it " A head start is always a good thing."

Just remember that G-10 is very dangerous to inhale so you'll need a respirator. Aside from that I am not really familiar with modifying G-10 scales.

I dunno about cutting up G10, but I hear its dust is very toxic to breathe.

I would use a file and wear a paint mask. Slower, but much less chance of removing too much material.

The dust will give you a quick long lasting sore throat if you inhale it and its glass filled so you are actually breathing in glass particles. Not good. Long term exposure is akin to breathing volcanic dust, also not good.

You need lung protection and best to vacuum up the dust left afterwards while still wearing the protection. Air the place out good also or ventilate.

G10 sands quite well and its very very easy to take off too much sanding on this material because a sanding belt will eat it away surprisingly fast if you are not careful. A simple mask is not sufficient to work this stuff because the particles can still get through it. You need something that blocks it out. If you can smell it while working it its not sufficient protection. Generally speaking the moment I notice the smell from working G10 or carbon fiber, titanium smelt or anything else is when I stop and replace the filters on my Respirator.
