I've been searching on google and YouTube and can't find a comparison between the Koa Yukon and grohmann #1 . I really like the looks of those elliptical blades and would like one of them to be my new skinning knife . However I can't find a comparison of which is better in terms of quality. I know the koa is made of d2 , and I have no experience with d2. If I was to get the grohmann I think I'd prefer the carbon steel . A side note is it appears from pictures the koa comes with a much nicer sheath, but I don't want to make my decision based solely on the quality of the sheath because I would be willing to have a better sheath made for the grohmann if it's a better knife. I know koa gets a lot of great reviews but grohmann is new to me and I can't find a whole lot on them.

Canadian Belt knife would be the pattern.

Personally I'd go with the Grohmann as its a classic pattern that uses a classic steel, but both brands make decent knives. I'd say the answer is do you mind keeping rust at bay? D2 isn't entirely stainless, but its close.
If yes : KOA
If no: Grohmann

Rust is not an issue for me , my edc pocket knife is a case cv trapper, so maintaining a knife and keeping it from rusting is a non issue for me as I already have to do it now
