The wife dragged me to the beach today, and I took a lil walk around. I found this Pomegranate looking shrub growing all over. Could this be Pomegranite growing on the beach in CT. It was about 3'-6' tall and the fruits were the size of a quarter or maybee a silver dollar.

That is a rose .ID'ed by the flower and fruit , 'rose hips'. You can make rose hip jam from the fruit. Yes it grows on the beaches in the NE though I don't remember the proper name.

its rosa rugosa otherwise known as a sea tomato=)--its a very hardy rose that grows great by the ocean

Thanks Mete, I had no idea that was a rose, pretty much because it didn't cost me 50 bucks. I think the species is Virginia Rose (Rosa virginiana)

Never mind I think Thalestin is right. I was looking for native plnts but it is more likely that it was introduced
