help with saltwater folder selection

I've been curious about this as well, but can anyone recommend anything OTHER than syperco? Not a fan of the spyderhole or the configuration of the locks.

Is there another model from a different company or maker that anyone might recommend?

Honestly? In that price range, selection and pure functionality? Not that I can think of.

Benchmade H2O series or David Boye knives if you are willing to pay more

G. Sakai, an excellent Japanese maker, uses H1 steel in their Sabi Knife series, but they are all fixed blades. I also have several of the H1 Spydercos, fixed and folders, I use for Gulf coast activities and they are outstanding for use in and around saltwater.

I just got a Boye folder a couple of weeks ago. So far I'm impressed with its cutting ability.
I got the pointy tip with the marlon spike.
I live on a boat.

Nothing as good in my opinion. Everything on the Salt series is rust resistant. I'm not sure about the locking hardware on the BM and if it's axis lock I'd be willing to bet it isn't going to last long with regular saltwater use without plenty of rinsing. Ti is great for rust resistance but in my experience sucks as a blade material.

These two have over 500 dives and haven't displayed any staining and get used topside for fish, bugs, and repairs. Spyderco is hard to beat.

I have a Pacific Salt and have swam with it in the ocean, no rust at all. I do recommend getting the newer version with torx screws instead of rivets. Mine has developed side play and I can't do anything about it since it's riveted.

Actually, you can, so I don't hijack this thread, look up how to re-pein a knife, rivets on larger knives are easy to fix blade play on.

Edit: Hehe :3 I see you already bought a Pacific Salt, good on you :D
