Need help with a few names. I'm looking for the thickest 4 1/2 inch busse with no coating...don't really care what handle color is. Can't remember what the names are. So if I want a busse with the specs which one am I looking for?
 
The thickest small Busse's that I can think of are the 5/16ths Straight Handle Badger Attack (SHBA) and the 5/16ths Mean Street (MS). But I think both are less than 4 1/2" in blade length. I'll measure my SHBA, but I dont have a MS. Next I can think of is the BAe and the Tanker-A, but I'm sure theres more out there.

As far as the coating, or lack thereof, nearly every Busse knife was offered with or without, or can be stripped easily enough.

Indeed it has helped!! Now I know what names to look for if I see any for sale. I am determined to get a busse! Its the next step up in strength for me. So far no luck but I'll keep going.


I hear Jerry likes his Jimmy walker blue. maybe if i send a case.
 
Oh I think a case would do it but it might be cheaper to go to the custom shop :eek:

I don't know if you are willing to sacrifice a little on the length but you can get an Off Duty at 3/8" thickness.
 
Angelus, you may also want to decide on which model you want, and post it in the Want To Buy (WTB) section of the EXCHANGE forums. Standard non-paying members may post in the WTB.

Good luck. Deciding on the first one is the hardest, it gets a lot easier (o.k. too easy...LOL) after that.........
 
Arrghh! So many choices!! I need help, cause I don't know all of the names nor have I been able to sort them out. How about I tell you what I want, and you give me the names...then I'll go hunt one down.


I'd like a 4 1/2 inch blade, similar demensions to the swamp rat HR! I'd like it to be thick, thick as possible, with satin finish(if not, I'll do it myself) What color handle, I don't know. It'll be my first of that handle material for a knife. All I have is the Res c materials. I wouldn't mind a 3 1/2 -4 3/4. Just 4 1/2 is what I usually work with and its the right length.

So which models should I be on the look out for?

You just made your own decision....you want an Off Duty!!! :)
 
I managed to score a Fat Euro in the Extravaganzaaaaa and that might be a nice choice. I still don't know how thick it is, but I hope it is at least .27". The fatter the better. I bought a Badger Attack E as well so it is possible that one of them ends up at the exchange. It looks like a 5" blade to me though. I am really excited about both of these blades but I have been eyeing that Meaner Street too. Hmmmm. That is a tough call. So many great Busse's...so little room on my Visa. :(
