im tired of wasting my money on a middle of the road knife.

so please suggest a brand of knife that is very sharp, durable and resonably priced!

thanks

Welcome to Bladeforums!

As you see, there are a lot of possiblities, and hundreds of good, cheap knives in each category.

Some knives are classics. They will get the job done unobtrusively. For example, to questions like yours we often end up recommending some kind of multitool or Swiss Army knife, a Buck 110, a Spyderco Endura, a Mora for a light fixed blade.

Ok, "not middle of the road"...
Look at a Darrel Ralph Black Gunhammer MG w/ Tritium inserts.

hey guys,
price is to be no over $200
i want a fixed blade, mostly a survival or hunting knife.
just needs to be sharp and the blade needs to be able to hold an edge and be durable,
any suggestions?

That's a lot clearer! :)

I suggest you start by looking at Bark River knives at http://barkriverknifetool.com/ . It's a bit of a job, because they make so many styles and sizes, but Choice Is Good. DLT Trading at http://www.dlttradingcompany.com/ has a great selection (not all of which are listed on the Bark River site itself, which only carries the standard lines).

Briefly, Bark River are generally of A2 or 12C27 steel, both of which are going to contribute to the tough, sharp, durable edge you need. They are ground with a convex edge, which is easy to maintain. You have an unparalleled selection of handle materials.

For an example, look at the Gameskeeper (also here).

ok what you said in your original post is WAY to vague for this forum...we need some details about it, like price range, size, what you will use it for ect....

+1 on Bark River (you'd be lucky to find a Hell Razor for twice your price)
