This is my first time here and I am trying to help my dad find a missing knife or tool to his set. He has a display case that he has found all of the knives for but there are two other cut outs in the foam that does not have a model number. I assume it is a tool but I'm not a collector (yet) and am not sure. One of the knives in the set is PKCN63CT (not even sure what that is but just want to help my dad). If anyone knows what the missing piecies are please let me know. They appear to be the same thing but just one is shorter than the other. Thanks for any help.

Can you describe what the knives in the set look like? Do they look like swiss army knives? Just curious as the CN in that model number might refer to the Century knives. Or it might be something completely different since I don't recall ever seeing a model 63 from that line.

They are all folding knives and I am pretty sure that at least some of them were Old Timers. There is probably 8 or 10 knives in the set and then these two unknowns. I can and will get the other model numbers from my dad and let you know. Thanks for the help.

If you could post some pictures of the display, maybe seeing the shape of the two holes will help jog someone's memory as well. Just a thought.

Not sure if I can help, however, I'll throw in my thoughts!

I have, in my collection, a Schrade 515SC (Scrimshaw)

The part number on the original box is PKSCMSW

It is a MAC TOOLS Racing Limited Edition Scrimshaw, Colored Car #21 on the cover

I also have a MAC Tools 1938-1986 LB-5 Style Knife, MAC Tools Kenney Bernstein, MAC Tools Ron Ayers, Frontier Knife MAC LTD 46th Anniversary,

Tools-Knives..........maybe this will help!

Pictures would definately help........show the knives in the set as well as the empty spots

Here is part of an email from my dad...."The only two knives in the case that I don’t have and have not been able to find are PKCN23CT and PKCN63CT. These are Schrade Century Swiss Army style knives that were made in Germany and finished in the USA. Usually they would go by CN63 and CN23." So he actually needs those two knives and the two tools in the kit. I will try and get a picture from him tomorrow. We live a few hours apart. Thanks again for everyones help.

Ah!! That's what I thought! Those would be the same knives as the CN61 and CN21, only they'd have blue handles instead of red. The last number indicates the handle color:
1-red
2-black
3- blue
4- white
5- green
6- yellow
7- gray

PS- Here's a link to a flyer with the knives pictured. I'd imagine your best bet would be to keep an eye on Ebay, if I see one I'll post a link.

Eric,

I actually had to go dig out my Century Knives since you posted this just to verify what I had:

CN22 (2) Each
CN51
CN 101

Again thanks for the lesson

Tom

No problem guys, I'm glad I could help. It was a learning experience for me as well since I didn't realize the Centuries had color codes. Larry deserves a huge thanks as well for having that site up, it's an incredible reference source.

Hope this works and you can see the missing tools in the pic. Thanks again and any guidence would be great.

I believe those tools actually belong to the two black knives below each empty space. Those knives were called Cliphangers, and what's missing is a nylon strap with a connector on one end that attached to the back of the knife, and a clip on the other end to attach to pants, backpack, etc.. The straps were displayed along side the knives as in your display. You may have to find a new knife in order to get the straps, as I'm not certain you'll be able to find just the strap by itself.

Here's a link to a 1996 catalog that shows the knives on the cover. Scroll down to the displays and you'll see how they're laid out:
