joel cade, welcome aboard a khukuri is a big knife these are made in Nepal from 5160 steel. They are really good at chopping and most people "start" with a WWII model or a 15" Chiruwa(full pinned tang) Ang Khola. I'd point you to the Himalayan Imports website but their host server appears to be having issues at the moment.

5160 is a steel type. Commonly used to make leaf springs for trucks, as well as other things.
