Helpful Hint (hopefully) Etching a Damascus blade with the handles already on.

Twice I have had a problem with a Damascus knife and needed to re-sand the blade with the handles already epoxied on. And of course the sanding took out the Damascus pattern.

Here's how I dealt with the situation; quart jar with vinegar heated in the microwave, and then knife inserted with the wood handles just out of the liquid. It actually worked quite well to restore the pattern I had sanded off.



No doubt others have thought of this but I post it here in the hopes that it may help someone.
