So, my buddy received his new Henckels stockman (4" with 420 SS steel and mahogany bone handles). He's pretty happy. I was glad to hear that I (uhh, with you guys' help, I mean 
) was able to be so helpful! Here's part of his e-mail to me:
"Got the knife a couple weeks ago. As I promised you, here are some thoughts. Am glad you couldn't talk me into those tool knives and Swiss army jobs. I prefer to keep tools in my tool box and a knife as a cutter period. This thing has some heft but since I'm not a small guy LOL it feels fine riding in my jeans, whether I'm working at work or at home or on the boat. I use it all the time -- don't know how I've gone without a pocket knife since I was a kid. I rubbed it up pretty good on the kitchen stone and now all the blades have a real good edge. All in all this is a great knife. Thanks again."
