Eh, from the hives I've seen kept (my wife's sister has about 8 hives), they don't bother much.

Little known fact about me, a teaspoon of fresh, raw honey a day, keeps my allergies under control.

Large know fact about me, I like to eat.

That's one of the reasons (aside from the awesome taste) that my wife keeps honey in stock. I think it's going to become a sugar replacement for us in as many applications as possible. I may have to look into it more. We currently buy fresh local honey from the farmer's market once a month or so for $25.
 
It's called Colony Collapse Disorder, a disease/virus (not 100% sure which). I'm pretty sure a solution/cure was found though.

Actually, from everything I've seen they are tracing it down to practices becoming more common in industrial agriculture (ie, pesticides and GMO crops). All the more reason to put a stop to Monsanto and Industrial Monocropping and get back to sustainable food production.

CCD is caused by systemic pesticides they had the same problem in france in 1994 check out "Vanishing Bees" good documentary on the CCD problem.
