Hen & Rooster Knives

I just got two older Hen & Rooster's today. Both Stag handles, one with a swing guard. Think they were made in the 70's. not to sure yet but each is a limited production model. Pictures to follow tomorrow. Was told they were worth $250 & $300 respectively. I traded a lonewolf Lobo for them

the swing guard was made after the summer of 1980.

If your knife says "Bertram Cutlery" is is after Frost got the brand. No original Bertram says Cutlery anywhere.

Look for C Bertram prior to AG in 1075. AG did a good job from 75 to 80 but anything with "cutlery" on the blade is from 1983 adn Frost.

I have this slimline trapper that I purchased within the last two years. The blade says "Solingen" and the box says "Made in Germany", the fit and finish is quite good and it has some of the best "walk" of any knife I own. I am happy with it.

They are now owned by Frost Cutlery since about 1983. Frost is a scum bag like that fat scum bag from cold steel. Everything they both sell is cheap china fakes. Poor quality and cheap materials with lousy fit and finish. Hen & Rooster used to be awesome but Frost bought the company just to use the name on his cheap imported China crap. Nothing of any quality ever comes from China. Those people produce and contribute nothing. All they do is copy and make cheap immitations of other quality items for deception purposes. Stay away. Like Boker....the expensive boker is made in Germany...the rest china and tawain....cheap crap....glad I could help. Love, Cassie :)

Hello there, I am also curious about the quality of H&R knives. There is an excellent review on a small stockman H&R knife by the Youtube knife reviewer Stefan Schmalhaus. He seemed to be pleased with the knife and it looked to be of decent quality. I am thinking about picking up a congress knife by them. Any thoughts?
