Here is an older Wayne Hendrix that found its way to the shack today. ATS-34, hollow ground mirror finish, tapered tang, about 7 inches, yellow micarta that has faded a bit in spots. I always liked the yellow micarta. Dozier used to use it on some of his knives. For some reason I don't see it very often any more.

Hendrix is one of those South Carolina makers that were trained and influenced by the late George Herron. I think this one will be the EDC belt knife for some time.
I may even use it on the Thanksgiving T-bone steak.
(Little Known Fact - The "T" in T-bone actually stands for Thomason.:D)

Nice little guy there, Rob. Looks mighty handy.:cool:

Thats a nice one, should handle the steak with no trouble at all.
Thanks for sharing

Peter

Nice one Rob. I was always partial to Yellow Micarta myself. The _T_ in T Bone means tough to get...;O)

Nice knife, I really like the lines on that one. Very well executed.

Nice one Rob! It looks like it would feel great in-hand.

That's a nice looking little knife. I'm partial to that size for EDC.

Sure is a nice lil' one there Rob!

Great find and congrats.

Did that gem come with one of Wayne's leather sheaths?

Or is that how the fade marks came to be?

The old Westinghouse yellow has long since stopped being produced.

Last Summer I some guy on the 'bay was getting upwards to $400 for a slab of the stuff.
I am thinking it was mostly nostalgic Randall knife knuts looking and paying top dollar for future projects...

I believe the sheath is an original. Very well made. The slightly darker color on the handle is the exact portion that stick up above the top of the sheath.

Thanks for the info about the micarta, ADD. That explains why I don't see it much anymore.:D When they still had some, Dozier's shop called it "old ivory" micarta.

Thats a great lookin knife, very nice lines. I like the size too, perfect....

Nice size and very nice look.

Micarta is a very desirable material when done wisely.

A proper user there!
