Her hand is doing much better now

Great to see she's doing better. Its going to be fun removing those stitches. I always like doing that.

Thanks man, it really is good to see. I was really worried the night it happened. It was a really jagged tear. She keeps asking when they can come out. Every time we change the bandage she buries her head against my side saying she can't look, but then as soon as we actually get it off all she does is stare at it and ask questions. I think there is some confusion in her as to what she thinks she is supposed to think and feel and what she actually thinks and feels.

Great to things are healing up well and thanks for sharing that cool one handed technique with her and us!

Thanks Todd! Well...I had intended to work on a few other aspects a while before that particular lesson, but it seemed like as good a time as any to go into it...

Brian, first off congratulations on the healing daughter who it sounds like is getting some of her spirit back. There is nothing quite as enjoyable as watching your kids rebound from their low points. Achievement is fairly easy to teach, persistence is much harder. As for the school district and the doctors: as you found when visiting the various ERs, HIPAA laws make communication between agencies quite challenging sometimes. Not excusing anyone, particularly the typing teacher, but I do have first-hand experience dealing with HIPAA, Education, and the children affected by adult bureaucracy. Let me know if I can help.

The stitches are out, and it's looking much better. I stood in the doorway watching her play Ocarina of Time earlier. I don't think watching her kick ass on a video game has ever made me so happy :)

Those pslm injuries are high priced real estate. I sliced the big muscle of my thumb open a few years back, and luckily I missed every single important thing that there is in that area if my hand.

Good luck with the full recovery!

Fantastic!! Looks so much better.

It really is looking much better. The last two weeks were very stressful for all of us here.

Thank you Dan. I figured out how close things were when the first thing the doctor did when he saw the damage was to make her resist, pull, and squeeze with her hand even though that started the bleeding up all over again. We are very fortunate that she didn't do any more damage than she did.

That is looking so much better!

It really is looking better. She went back to the park yesterday for the first time, and that was a mix of joy for her not being traumatized by it and a worry after seeing her return from there covered in so much blood. I stood in the living room doorway yesterday watching her playing Zelda, Ocarina of Time for a while. I do not think watching her give a video game hell has ever made me that happy :)

Wow Brian, I've been MIA for couple months and just saw this. Glad shes okay, but i can imagine your heart must have dropped when it happened. Will pray for a speedy complete recovery!

She is doing much better now, thank goodness. But yes my heart just stopped when I saw her all bloody like that. I could have gone my whole life without that and been just fine... Thanks man, much appreciated.

Thats what my scar looked like. I still suffer from it in the winter. Vitamin E and rub it till it hurts now at the beginning and it will lessen it.

Cool. I have a bottle of VE oil on my desk at home. Will try that
