No choil 1st choice, small choil 2nd choice.
But honestly, I'm buying
at least one (more likely multiples) in whatever configuration it comes in. Mudder handles are great! INFI just makes it even better!
But less choil = better though I get the idea behind a large choil. I can just keep my hand on the handle where it belongs (crazy concept, right?) and do the same work that I could with a large choil and arguably have better control when choking up and working with the heel of the blade and I get the added bonus of the additional usable blade length by not having it missing from being ground away by a choil.
No choil is best because I can always add a small one in later if I so desire for sharpening purposes. Plus, the choil can't get hung up on stuff if it isn't there!
Jerry, is this bigger than the Mud Mutt? Can you tell us what steel it might be in?
The Mud Mutt is one of my favorites!
If I get extra nerdy with it and break out my calipers and calculator, I keep coming up with about a 7" blade length. I checked multiple times to make sure I'm not misfiguring but that's what I keep coming up with.
Scrapper 5 and a Mudd Mutt both with a 5 1/4" blade length. The ratio of blade length to handle length is definitely larger on Jerry's drawings further backing up my estimates though the man himself is always welcome to correct me!
All I have to say is, HOLY COW! That's a HUGE blade on a mudder handle! I'm pumped for this one!

you're
killing it with all these designs and teasers coming out so frequently! I'm not even mad that you already have all my money and will for the foreseeable future. It's almost like some weird form of Stockholm syndrome but I'm ok with that! Lol
