Here Are The Specs And Pricing For The Nano Urgent Fury That Is Coming This Wednesday, June 19, 2024, At 9:00 PM Eastern!!!!!!

I'm not normally into brightly colored handles but those ones Jaxx Jaxx and Nismo17 Nismo17 posted are really cool and unique. Really works well with this model! Wish I had both only with a bright satin blade.

Keep the nuke pictures coming guys!

And YES! This in Tigerhide would be amazing! (also with satin, lol)

Ugh.... No regrets.... WHATEVER! I regret having not bought one! (Only reason I didn't is because I spent my monies on other Busses though 😂)

Having never owned a nuke, are they normally hand contoured? Not sure if you were implying that. I always thought they were CNCed the same as the non nuke versions and the only difference was the colors.
I’ve owned about 8-10 different modern nuke option Busses and this was the first to have a more hand/sanded shaped handle. I can’t fully explain, but this has like a soft Play-Doh feel to it.

Love the funky Fisherprice lime green handle color. It brightens up the collection.

Jerry !!! Would love to see LE version of this in Tigerhide pleaseeeeee

I usually dislike those wavy heavily contoured handles and prefer the flatter thin ones from yesterday, but this design works well. Fits my hand perfectly like a glove. These specific nuke handles are textured, but also hand contoured at the same time. Feels like butter. This is one of the knives I can’t put down.

I think it's the stonewash treatment. Not sure how they do it, but it definitely does feel buttery smooth 👍👍 If I had to guess, my thought is that they attach the handles to handle shaped cutouts, thinking like a bladeless full tang cutout & toss them in for "stonewashing" (whatever medium suits G-10 & micarta best) 🤔 but it could be handsmoothed instead. These buttery smooth handles only seem to be on the stonewash option (both Nuke & standard). Love yours as a 1 layer G-10, have ya hit it with a UV light yet? 😉🤙 (ETA: Just noticed yours has a blue liner also 🙂👍)
Mine is 3 layer- Black, Grey, neon lime G-10 layers. The Gray lends the neon lime deeper green colors where the neon layer is thinner over the gray.

Ah! Thanks Jaxx Jaxx , I better understand now what Nismo17 Nismo17 was talking about.

I have 2 different Busses, both with the exact same fusion handle in black G10, one satin blade and one stonewashed blade and what you guys describe is exactly how I feel about my stonewashed one.

It's noticeably smoother and gentler than the satin bladed one and it's due to the exact reason you describe, they stonewash the entire knife, handle scales and all. I can see the evidence of stonewashing on the handle scales, random hazy marks everywhere from abrasion (the stonewash treatment) and obviously the texturing and everything feels like it's been melted down slightly so there's no sharp corners anywhere. Really gives it a nice hand feel and makes it this strange combination of smooth and slick yet still grippy, especially when a little moisture from your palm is introduced. Indeed, hard to put down!

Nismo17 Nismo17 were the other 8-10 nukes you have which didn't feel hand sanded or contoured, were they satin blades or stonewashed?

Thanks for the extended insight Jaxx

lime green g10 top primary slab and blue/black g10 on the liner. I’ll try dig up an old UV light and check it out.

I had no idea Busse stonewashed the handles on some trim options.

All my previous nuke option blades were satin

I grabbed this one in stonewash because I thought it better fit this model aesthetically.

Bulky maybe a bad choice of words, maybe I'm just not used to that type of handle yet. My hog badger fits me perfectly, this one the middle 2 extrusions are buggy to me, i can really feel them and dont want them to feel that exaggerated, they almost seem wider than the top and bottom but they aren't... might just take them down a touch.
Ah, ok. That makes more sense.
