Here is that Puukko I always wanted

Im making knife for a friend of mine and its coming along nice but I think ill keep making these puukkos for a while im just a bit fascinated by them. Cant say enough about Bo Bergmanns book. here is that kife I'm making for a friend I still need to finish handle.

Nice start, question though, is there a reason you are not drawing the tang out more before the joint? I would be worried about strength with that short a tang stub, there is not much to take stress off the joint

Hmm Page did not take that in consideration, I guess I was being conservative with tha 1084 you got me, how long should they be, Ill do the same brass braze bolt add on to them, they are really short stubby things, about 2 inches
 
I like at least 1 1/2 inches for little blades, 2 1/2 inches for bigger blades, that allows the handle material to support the tang withhout torque on the solder/braze/weld joint

I didn't realize Bo Bergman's book was hard to get. I found it at the library, and they nearly had to come take it back. Nice puukkos there.
 
Ty Bro, yeah I'm completely infatuated with them, I like the simple handle but my brother and his friend want them for hunting and I've been trying to come up with handle shape that would help avoid slippage while field dressing dear.
