Here it is! Nuclear payload #2. . . Is it buried near you?

Jerry, I keep telling you. Everybody buries stiff in New Jersey, you should give it a try.;)

Will get back at these when I get back into town. Until then, good luck all!

hmmmmm. . . . I need to know how you are arriving at your conclusions. . . . you have to tell me what led you to your answer.

Nuke on!

Jekyll Island reasoning (with some suppositions thrown in):
1) Your first clue pointed toward the GA coast so that seemed to be the area to focus on.
2) The clue "the ultimate prize for journalism" identifies the Pulitzer Prize. Joseph Pulitzer was one of a group of wealthy individuals that formed a club and purchased Jekyll Island.
3) The clue "He sure did love this place.. . .Duh!!!! Obviously!" led me to think that if you bought an island you must relly love it. Especially if you had the resources and had searched the world for the perfect "getaway" spot.
4) Both St. Catherines and Jekyll have some common links. They both attract exotic birds and are breeding grounds for turtles. They both are considered hidden gems with very limited development. Just the sorta place Jerry and his bride might want to relax at and explore.
5) The clue "Phil's kid" I just chalked up to one of the founding families of the island.

So Jekyll is as good a spot as any for some nuclear payload...plus the Nuke sub base at St Mary's is just down the coast a bit...how's that for a nuclear stretch of deduction!

Clyde

Clyde!

I'm almost ready to surrender!. . . almost. Darn it boy. . . you are good! You're dead on!!!

Phil was Joseph Pulitzer's father.

Jekyll Island it is!!! I thought that this would stay unsolved for years!

I'm gonna have to tighten these clues up a little bit. . . . You gosh darned, flugin' clue breakin', deductive reasonin', no stone left unturned, flankin' shmaggers!  ;)

Stay tuned. . . . I'm putting the next one up in greek or something!!!!

Nice job!

Jerry

Clyde,

Have you heard anything from Jerry regarding Jekyll Island, GA and the payload?

Just wondering.....

~Drew

both by the thought that went into hiding this Nuclear Payload and the mystery solving ability of Rawhide Clyde.

Clyde, I hope you find this bad boy !! Good luck!

My money's on Patricia. . . If she's within striking distance, you guys had better put on your hiking boots and get crackin'!!!! :)

I'll come up with the next clue very soon. . . I hope.

I'm bored and need something to do this coming weekend Jerry.

Any further clues on this one?

Yeah, and did you find that map you lost? Maybe it was with all those old blades that nobody cares about, get to the real stuff, the buried treasure!

After re-reading Jerry's original post and doing some extensive 'net searching I came up with the following location guess.

Jerry said, "That's a pic of the burial site...ooops...that was close!"
This got me pointed to the NW end of Jekyll Island. Why, well that's where the du Bignon Cemetery is located. Get it? Burial site = cemetery. And located on the south side of the cemetery is none other than Georgia's first brewery - Horton's. Jerry would never miss an oppertunity to visit a brewery, now would he? ;) :D

Alas, I just got off the phone w/ Jerry (I got a Killer B, Yeah!) and he was unaware of the existance of Horton's Brewery. :( He said he would have to recheck his maps to see exactly where payload #2 was located. Then he asked if I was in GA. I said no, I was just trying to solve the puzzle and then post my findings. I thought it would be interesting to see which Hog, Hogette or Hog-wanna-be made it out to the island first. Jerry said he wouldn't be surprised if I were to drive down there; two or three times if necessary!

I think I'll wait for a midwest payload before searching again.

I've never seen where anyone found Nuclear Payload #2, and the last clue was given out over two years ago. Hey, someone may have found it and I missed the post, and I'll feel silly if that's the case. But, I just started looking it over again anyway.

In the caption of the cactus photo, Jerry said "burial site" and "that was close". Right near the Morgan House is the Dubignon Cemetery. I looked at a couple of web pages that had pictures of the grave markers, and in one of the pictures, there were a couple of the cactus plants like Jerry's photo. The interesting thing is that the web pages said that noone is actually buried in the cemetery. It was just built as a memorial to those that are buried in the area. However, it didn't say there wasn't in INFI buried there.

A couple of other things that make me think the INFI is close to that area is that there's a RV camping ground nearby which is what Jerry is partial too. The first Payload in DeSoto was near an RV campground.

Finally, the last thing that made me sure that INFI is close by is that the ruins of Georgia's first brewery is there. Where else would Jerry vacation?

Anywhoo..Give it up Jerry! It's been two years since your last clue (if I haven't missed it already) What gives? I'm up for an adventure this weekend!!

Grunts of Pork and the Mrs. were talking about a trip after last year's Induction. I never heard if they went or not.

If it is still there, you should listen to G-man. I think he was onto something.....just a few steps more.......X.

It's all in the clues. Read the clues. :D

So... Is that a confirmed "still out ther to be found"...? :D Well C'MON let's go diggin'!!! LOL "Drew's clues", NICE
