Pretty soon they'll have to ban criminals.

The sad part is, because they are physicians their comments will appear to carry more weight. What has happened to GB? Seems to be getting a little weird over there.
 
Good God. When are people going to learn that a weapon only becomes a weapon when it is picked up with that intent. whether it is premeditated or an act of blind passion some one is going to get hurt with something. Treating violence by banning potential weapons is like treating cancer with a baby asprin. I really hope this trend in backward thinking comes to an end, but i doubt it.
At this rate, Josh's people will have easy pickings when they cruise down from the mother ship to conquor us;)

Stuff like this is unbelieveable. Every day whether it is Patriot act stuff on the right or this kind of stuff on the left the little guy just keeps getting shafted.

I think this would discriminate against battered women. Sometimes a kitchen knife is all a woman has to protect herself against an abusive husband or boyfriend. Wonder why nobody ever thinks about the DEFENSIVE use? They must all live in a city where people have phones and the cops can be there in 5 minutes. They can be at my house in 30 but I'm on my own till then!

Back in the 90's the wife of a local wealthy plastic surgeon here in Phoenix was in London riding on the subway with a male friend. Both were dressed up for some social engagement when they were beset upon by some local hooligans, one of whom broke a beer bottle over her friend's head, requiring several stitches.

So, here's this good looking woman in a fancy dress and high heels who whips - I kid you not - a Victorinox Classic out of her purse and confronts the scum, cutting one of them on the arm in the process.

Victorinox Classic - The smallest Swiss Army Knife in production. It has a 1" blade.

So these big, bad, tough guys run to the local cops with their 'injury' and make a complaint and so the woman is arrested.

Months pass, friends in Phoenix plead with her not to back to England - where she faces years in prison if convicted of aggravated assault in her trial.

Convinced of her innocence (self defense) she goes back to England and with a very good lawyer at her side in court, she gets convicted of aggravated assault.

The British judge tells her that with a weaponless society she should not have to defend herself with a weapon of any kind.

They gave her a suspended sentence and she left England vowing never to return. Her lawyer reminded her that in America you were a citizen but in Britain you were a subject, and there is a difference.

Things don't hurt us. We use them to do that for us.


Maybe the town in the article should consider getting at the root of the problem. Why is violence on the rise? What is wrong with their town?


How will they chop their onions once all the knives are gone? Without onions, where will they get their nutrition? Without nutrition how will they make their money?

It always comes back to knives. :D

over here, as soon as you pick up something with the intent to use it as a weapon, it becomes illegal. no such thing as a defensive weapon, any weapon is defined as offensive so they can throw you in jail & lawyers can make money off you. criminals of course get legal aid. the three inch folding knife they talk about being OK to carry is only OK if you cannot lock the blade, as in if you use it, it can fold up unexpectedly & slice your fingers....except for the BMW, if you kill someone with a BMW, you may, if really unlucky, get six months....probably just a reckless driving & 3 points on your license.
 
How about the guy who cut the fellows head off on the street with an ax last month. I'm suprised they didn't go after axes and hatchets.

I wish that were true, but Orwell wrote about Western Civilization. Here we have AMA anti gun propaganda. And APA, too. ( that's the one for shrinks...) And CDC funded anti gun blarney.

My wife quit the APA because of all their nonsense.

They never even asked me to join.... what's up with that? Just because I wasn't a shrink?
