Heres a couple of potentially Indian mutiny era kukri to share...

Another fine blade! Guess I'd like to see your collection and would also be happy to take any free samples you might be giving out!

Be still, my beating heart that's gorgeous!

Its got good provenance too!

Ah! Man that is sweet as they come:thumbup: That Cho:eek: and Bone...sweet sweet sweet!
I was just looking for it. I found a bunch of old pics of the IMA and AC cash of military "sirupatis" with inscriptions. The shapes of some are very close.

Yep Benjamins got some great pieces.... I see similarities & differences though...;)

Is it only me, or do all the bevels on the older ones seem shorter? Like around 5 mm? Was this the standard approach in old kukris? Just wondering.

On many yes, all vary though... but its the angle of the bevel that's critical, A thicker blade needs a longer bevel to equal the same bevel angle on a thinner blade..

I think you are right.

On occasion many variables though...See above!;)

All are gorgeous. And I really love that beefier type of Sirupate blade.

indeed Thank you!

Enjoy!

Speaking of blade bevels my Atlanta Cutlery "Long Leaf" blade (yes the very same I've been procrastinating working on) has that same shallow bevel, it must have worked for them!

"....what was going on?" Ah--hem. Spiral, wunna these days me and you is gonna have to have a little chat.;)

Good one chaps!

Just noticed I should point out the Fisher kukri isn't mine its in the Gurkha museum at Winchester.
