if you're heading to the mountains. NOHRSC Interactive Map You can get snow depth, surface temps, wind speeds, etc. by using the pulldown on the upper left marked "Select Physical Element".

The center of the map is where I was planning on going camping this weekend....but with 4-8 inches of fresh snow and more predicted for tomorrow I think I'll wait for now. :(

It looks like it does for the part you can see on the map at the upper right. Just click your mouse on a spot on that map to recenter things.
 
On the theme of maps I've just seen this. I cannot guarantee how sanitary or useful it is 'cos I've not used it. That said, the source code is there and that which pointed me to it has yet to do me a wrongun after repeated trials:

Offline Maps is an application which provides its users the ability to download tiles from Google Maps and Openstreetmap. Developers can create layers on top of google maps to visualize stuff.
