Ok this will be a really tough one.

But getting nostalgic, I would love to remember the name of this toy we used to collect back in the 80's as kids in northern New Jersey.

Let me try to describe it. They were sort of very small "action figures", all were the same color, JUST "beige" or something very similar to beige. No other color, that's it.

Quite small in size, no more than 2 inches long, maybe even less. All were the same size.

Designs varied so much I can hardly describe it. All kinds of figures, some truly crazy and quite cool. Little monsters and weird deformed human type figures and heros. Really too many designs to explain, and many were so totally different from each other. One could be a monster, another could be a guy with a round donut head. Very crazy stuff.

Many many different ones to collect. I had a whole bag full and I don't think I had even close to as many as were in existence.

Made out of plastic, but it was ever so slightly soft. You could bend them just slightly. Not like an ABS plastic, more of a hard rubber.

Aside from baseball cards, this was the other thing we used to collect (and knives but that was just me).

We ALL used to collect them, so surely this was atleast somewhat of a popular toy, right? That's what I hope.

For the life of me I can't remember what they were called.

Anyone remember? Anyone have a link online so I can feed my nostalgia?

I know what you're talking about, but I can't remember either. Weren't they called some sort of acronym?

I remember they had a cool name, a "tough" name, but I don't remember whether it was an acronym. Could be.

My memory for names has never been good.

That's it, that's it!

Thank you Matteo and Bob.

Very well done. Excellent memory.

I just googled it to remember more. Actually, we collected the first run from 1985 that were all pink, single color, and were just called m.u.s.c.l.e. men. The ones Bob posted exactly.

See, they're crazy looking little bastards aren't they!:)

Unbelievebly there seem to be forums dedicated to it, and people seriously collecting them to this day eventhough they are no longer being made. Amazing.

Here's the round donut head I vaguely remembered. This was one of many I had.

Flesh colored collectable figures

==========

Man this really brings back some nice memories.

What era were those toys ? or , how old are you Emanual. I'm 41 and I dont recall those toys at all.

I looked on eBay to see what you guys are taking about. Lots of pics, but apparently they came in a way more colors than just beige.

I totally collected those guys!:D I had probably 50 or so of them at one time. Man, talk about a fun toy that didn't cost much. rebeltf, I'm 26 and I was into them pretty hardcore as a kid. I'm guessing if aren't between the ages of 25-31ish, then you probably didn't pay much heed to them...unless you're 50-60ish and bought them for your kids at that time;)

I even remember the wrestling ring you could get for them with rubber band ropes to launch them into each other.

Damn, now I'm wondering what happened to all mine!! Blast from the past

rebeltf,
I concur with everything steely_gunz just said.

They're from the mid 80's, and I am 29.

Regarding the colors. The ones we collected were the original/first run, and they're just flesh colored/pink....what I have mistakenly been calling beige.

To be honest, I didn't even know they came in different colors, I never saw those as a kid. I only ever saw the plain flesh colored m.u.s.c.l.e. men.

M.U.S.C.L.E. Things. One of my all time favorite toys. They originally were all in that pink color, but later they came out with red, blue, green, purple and orange versions. The figures were the same just different colors of plastic. They came in 4 packs which were sold on the standard cardboard backing with a plastic blister, ten packs which came in a little plastic garbage can and the coveted 28 packs which were a small cardboard box with individual compartments.

They were great fun and we traded them like baseball cards. They only cost a quarter each so you could buy them just by saving your lunch money. Since they were just randomly dumped into the packaging after a certain point you always got "doubles" to trade with so you always had trade fodder. There was also a poster which pictured all of them I believe there were 200 some odd of them. I managed to get darned near all of them either purchased or traded... AND I've still got them. Yeah I was pretty much a compulsive collector even then. :)

Stretch Armstrong LOL

I broke my little bro's Stretch , the goo leaked out all over and in retaliation he broke my green lizard guy ( Stretch Monster), same result.
:p

I still have a few of my M.U.S.C.L.E. men.
This thread is crazy, because I have them in the garage and was just out there looking at them thinking of old times.

Dang, I must be ALOT older than you kids.:D...I remember Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and Erector Sets when I was a youngin'. I also played, and collected, marbles...Cat's eyes, steeleys, pearls, etc...

If you where a kid in the 80s you had these toys.
I am 36 and knew about these wrestling guys.
