I'm still waiting for the really good stuff:p:D:p

...just teasing!

You did hit the mother load, thanks for sharing with us. Preston

Hey ITE, how about loaning me that beauty for my fishing trip the end of this month! It would make short work of cleaning the trout.

The one liner 121 is quite a find. The 2 snap sheath is a real rarity.:thumbup::thumbup:

Tele, I agree ! The two snap sheath's are very hard to come by . Great find ITE . DM

Even though theres not a pommel photo I'm sure thats a barrel nut model . Just not the first issue . Good photos ITE . DM

Okie, There are other collectors here that know the answer to your question but they must be busy so, your stuck with me . The red hard fiber spacers were used beginning in 1962 (leather was used prior to in this model)some time (perhaps just prior to June 1963 (some reference) . Then they were changed in to micarta sometime in 1969 . This last date given would have a slightly different stamp two years prior . Hope this helps . DM

Like Dave, I assumed that your 121 was a barrel nut. Then I got to thinking about it. I think that only the original 6 Buck Knives, Inc. production knives were barrel nuts. The 121 was a later knife (1963??). Went back to the collection and checked a spine stamp 121 (which is earlier than the knife in this thread) and sure enough it is a pinned pommel knife. I think that your 121 is a pinned pommel.

Tele, Thanks, you prompted me to go back and reread in Blade's Guide to Knives and sure enough it states (article by Vern, Joe and Larry O.) on pg. 366 the 121 was never made in a barrel nut configuration . Mmm, makes me wonder if any barrel nut with red fiber spacers exist .? Maybe-- Tele or HK . Thanks . So, ITE's 121 would have been mfg. in late 1963- 66 . DM

I just looked at my barrel nuts and have all 6 with red fiber spacers. The very earliest barrel nuts had leather spacers.
