Here's one that I always wanted... 121...

I4Bucks:

Thank you for the kind comments. These darn knives are so much fun.

Although the picture doesn't show it, the Spine Stamp 121, has grind marks from the original maker that certainly shows that it was totally hand made.

Like Dave, I assumed that your 121 was a barrel nut. Then I got to thinking about it. I think that only the original 6 Buck Knives, Inc. production knives were barrel nuts. The 121 was a later knife (1963??). Went back to the collection and checked a spine stamp 121 (which is earlier than the knife in this thread) and sure enough it is a pinned pommel knife. I think that your 121 is a pinned pommel.

I don't think mine is a Barrel nut... I'm sure it's not... Thanks for the great pics and info... ITE

Thanks Tele . So, this information reveals that red fiber spacers were used throughout 1962 during the barrel nut mfg. and some in 63 . But in 1961 and prior the spacers were leather . Your spine stamped 121 should show grind marks as much of the work in those early years was still done by hand . Thanks . DM
