Here's the handle I put on QL's khukuri.

I usually "me too" posts, but for those handles it just has to be said. As Cougar noted, very nice style especially on the smaller pieces.

Yvsa, you ought to be an Architect! The chakma and karda handles have a very natural, organic flow to them. The khuk handle actually (to me) has a strong old English parlor accent while maintaining the traditional Nepali lines and shape--a very successful blend of styles. These pics are very inspiring. I think even the kamis would be impressed. We should have you design a building from scratch--now THAT would be interesting.

YVSA,
I am impressed all over again just looking for a 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th) time.
I think we may have to discuss a khukuri that would really appreciate a little "honey".

I received the micrometer today and want to give you a very sincere 'dhanyabad'. With the new scanner working, a good set of scales and the measuring system decided I can finally relay some accuracy to my collection.

Glad the mic's finally got there John.
I still have about 3 of the 0-1" mic's. I keep one on my keyboard stand with a six inc scale and an 18"- 45.5 mm stainless ruler I got at Walmart for about 3 bucks.

You will have to do some guess-a-mateing on the blades that have hard radiused areas on them due to the edges of the mic's holding the flat edges off the bottom.
There is a radius attachment that you may be able to pick up at some machinst tool supply house. It consists of a ball in a sleeve that fits over both anvils and then by deducting or adding a given amount you can measure down to a 1/4" radius to the nitty gritty!!

You asked about a style of blade on the other full curving thrad and I will go into more detail on that thread. Since you have the mic's now we can finally talk in exact measurements instead of guessing. That will give all of us a lot better idea of the thicknesses of the older blades!!!

If you have patience I wouldn't mind adding a little honey to your collection.
I offered Terry some of the wood and the offer still stands if you would prefer to have something done fairly soon. Either way is okay with me.

Chris that's kinda interesting about your comments on architecture. When I was a very young man that was on the list of things I wanted to be.
Alas that's another thing that Rusty and me have/had in common and that was anatomy. exclusive to the curves of young females.

I would like to have the funds to build a house that I would love to live in.
The 1st requirement would be the site and that would be on the top of a hill.
There wouldn't be much of the house seen from the outside though since the largest part of it would be underground.
It still seems to me to be a wise choice for those of us that live in Tornado Alley and the season is about to begin!! We have already had one small one this year already!!
I 1994 the hillside about a mile from us was prett well wiped clean. It was a F-4 that killed several people.
One of the small ones it spawned went rght over our house.
It didn't touch down or I probably wouldn't be typing this now.

Thanks for the nice words.
