When you don't have a camera crew and crocodile handlers backing you up, discretion is the better part of valor! :)

In crocodile dundee 3 he does, he's also in the tree with the second best croc man in Australia too :P
 
In Quest for Fire, the 3 traveling cave men are chased up a scrawny tree by 2 sabertooths. They are up there so long, they eat all the leaves to keep from starving. One day, as they doze, bored and still scared, one of them falls to the ground as the branch he's on snaps off.

Fortunately, the sabertooths had just left. :)
