Received my HEST 2.0 folder today!

I have wanted one since the first generation, but production flaws/problems and my lack of funding always got in the way. My first impression is .....exactly what I thought it would be. A good heavy duty titanium framework folder that I could beat on and depend on if I had to. I will EDC it for a while so we can get to know each other better, and report back in a couple of weeks with a review.

By the way, anything special I should know about sharpening and caring for D2?

Ive enjoyed mine, zero problems once i got rid of the 1.0. Hope you like it

I sharpen my Hest with the WEPS. Pretty happy with the result. I wouldn't try to hand sharpen it - others may have the patience and skill.

The strongest frame/liner lock I've ever owned. That includes knives costing five times the cost.

I Sharpen By Hand, But I Know How To Do It.
I Would Say If You're Not Used To Sharpening, Do It With A Guided System.

The lockbar had peened/wore to the point where it was almost touching the G10 side and the blade had vertical play. Of course, that was after bending the lockbar over a slight bit, several times, because it would wear and develop play...again and again.

The rest of the knife is well put together. The steel holds a hell of an edge. The lock sucks.

Well I hope mine doesn't do that. That's one reason I prefer the axis lock.

I have a Lansky system that I use to sharpen the rest of my knives, so surely it will work for this one too.

I've been playing with it all evening (the knife you sicko's!), and I'm glad I took the plunge. Looks and feels great!

The lansky will work fine, if you can get the clamp to open wide enough to get onto the spine. That was the main problem I had with the clamp-based systems. They work good if you can get them on there straight.

Okay, first day of carry and I already REALLY like this knife! I can see this staying in my pocket for a long time.
More to come.............

I broke down and ordered a hest 2.0 from Dale at www.the-knife-connection.com. :) He actually had a discount code that brought the knife down to 157.45$$ Thats $$17.50 off!!!!! The code is DPxRefund.

Like all the knives I have ordered from dale in the past, ordered yesterday and last night it was already on its way out the door from the Ohio Post office.

Highly suggest using dale!!!!

Mine also came from TKC. Dale's discount code got me off the fence.
Day Three, and I am really enjoying this knife as an EDC.

Dale is great, I always buy my knives through him.

I loved my Hest 1.0, but like others, got disgusted with the chronic lock failure. I actually had three different ones and they all developed the same issue. But with that being said, I have yet to find a knife that's hard use and fist my hand as comfortable as the Hest. I just love everything about it. It's the perfect edc size for me. I have been edcing my zt0300 everyday for 7mo's now, its great and I absolutely love it but the size is starting to wear on me. It's just so wide that I have to fight to get my big ass hand in my pocket while im carrying it.

So I really can't to get it!!

Totally man. I ordered mine on Thursday and it showed up today !!!!!!! I love it. Even better than before. RYP definitely came through and put out a nice one with the 2.0. Highly recommend it.
