HEST Capsule?

I saw some where that there was a waterproof capsule for the hest. Any one know bout these or if they sell these and where?
 
seems like it was really designed for kiestering a few necesseties, and they changed their minds. or maybe i've got a warped memory.
 
it's got its place, but most people who buy the knife won't need to bribe a cop, or hide a cuff key... it'd take up a lot of useable space inside the handle.
 
I don't understand what you guys are talking about. The original proposed capsule would provide MORE space than is currently inside the handle with scales. And provide a little better purchase when wrapped with paracord.

I wasn't planning on shoving it somewhere :)
 
I'm glad they decided not to make that capsule. Even though you wouldn't HAVE to shove it in your bum, I would hate for ESEE to become the butt (pun fully intended) of jokes to that effect!

it was supposed to fit inside the scales, far as i remember... i may be wrong... happens fairly often.

If they make it, I've just gotta buy it and test it out. And post a photo gallery showing the experiance. And let's all take a moment to be thankful i don't have to discuss the best way to insert said container, or practice doing it in a dark truck bumping down the road.

.... Though that'd make a fun contest

and I really wanna see how big of a kit TTD is willing to make for this one,

As I recall the original proposed design, you would remove the scales, insert the capsule and then wrap it with the 550 cord. The scales wouldn't fit back on because the capsule would stick out too far on each side. Once it was wrapped, the handle would take on a more rounded or oval shape.

I, too, could be wrong though. If it was meant to go INSIDE the scales, then yeah, I wouldn't be interested in that. It would take up too much of the valuable space.

I don't know where Robert got the idea that it would be meant for kiestering. :confused: I'm gonna have to talk to him about that. Unless he's going to start marketing his new gear to inmates, I think we can leave out all the gear buggering. That being said, if I ever get locked up, I'd love to have a HEST, who wouldn't in that environment:D
 
If it's for going bum diving, I want something better than tuf glide on it, I absolutely want it to fit inside the scales, and if you can find the whole knife, man, I at least want smaller kydex and no pry bar!

I gotta tell you--I'm not entirely comfortable with how far down this path this thread has gotten:barf:

that's kinda my thinking, too... though even if it did fit within the scales, i'm probably still not man enough to cram it up there...

While hiding things in your colon may be something only inmates and criminals might do, you have to ask the question; What is an inmate and who is a criminal?
 
I've never been into minimalist gear really. But, for the rear-psk, I don't think I'm going to pack a d series mag lite. I'm thinking single aaaa or a candle at most, one or two matches, and I'd wax coat that for sure, maybe some fishing line and a small pick... I dunno. I suddenly think much of my kits I can live without.
