HEST Dis-likes

my take...there are NO negatives about the HEST...it is a unique design with multiple functional elements, so it's a lot more than just a sharp edge...if you're working hard to build some biases against it, then the knife is not for you...

the prybar is a VERY distinctive feature of the HEST; don't buy the blade if you think the prybar isn't useful, stick with the RC3; an outstanding "single purpose" blade...

i had a friend tell me that if he bought the HEST he'd grind down the prybar...i told him wouldn't be easier to buy a similar blade without a prybar?...awkward silence from him at this point...

i got one because of ALL the things it can do...

Let us know what you think of it.

So far, liking it. The prybar is smaller than I thought, it's really not that big a deal. The sheath is good for using on a system or pack, but I'm having a small fold over made up for pocket and neck carry. Think I'm gonna like it, but we'll see where it settles out in the rotation over time.

The only somewhat negative thing I can say is I wish the handle was a bit shorter. Thats all I got, I carry mine everyday horizontal on my belt.
